The only thing more intimidating than baking for the Queen is baking for my mom and her friends. Not because these ladies are critical, quite the contrary, this group of ladies are quite lovely and encouraging. But seriously, cooking for a group of veterans is an elixir for anxiety!

I actually made a joke of it at first, being able to say my name with letters of distinction following. Who knew that a certificate could actually make me stand a bit taller? The truth is that it didn't change my desire to provide excellent service, or stand out as a quality provider, but what it did do is show that I am serious about the importance of my role, enough to invest time and money into an organization that also takes this very serious and holds me to a higher standard of service.

For me the starting point is usually one "thing". Maybe it’s a theme, something my clients or I love. An idea that really just becomes a spring board of bunny trails, paths that create a big picture. Sometimes those bunny trails paint a dream myself or my clients have not been able to articulate before.
